Video Production and
Drone Operation
I am a hobbyist drone pilot, cinematographer and video editor. I have taken interest in film since I was 15 and have been tuning my skills with handheld cameras and drones since then. I have become an expert in Apple's Final Cut Pro X, and very competent in the Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator), as as result of this interest.
I have found this growth to be very applicable to university work as I produce presentation videos, model/assembly animations and annotated drawings. I have featured a number of projects I have worked on, ranging from random events filmed, to high school program production, and my favorite, location specific (travel) features. While this is not engineering exactly, It has been a part of my creative and technical growth.
Cinematic Production of Iceland
I am currently working on the largest production of my hobbyist video editing track, with 1.9TB of footage from 6 cameras, of Iceland's coolest places. I was fortunate to see this country, and I have placed a temporary and shorter production, video of the drone footage I captured each day and night. The active volcano was the highlight flight.
Northeastern Study Abroad Production
NU.in Ireland Program, Video from September to December while traveling and studying Engineering at the University College of Dublin. This was the first product I was recognized for through an award (Northeastern Student Life Award). Many prospective students have reached out to learn more about the program and I find this very rewarding!
Covid-19 + Adirondack Mountains Short Film
During the summer of 2020, my close group of friends went on a backpacking trek in the Adirondacks to celebrate graduation. With no cell service, we could get away from the chaos of the pandemic, and coincidentally, we missed the first uproar of George Floyd marches and protests which was shocking and saddening to return to. All characteristics made this project memorable.
Philmont Scout Ranch Production
As part of my time in the Boy Scouts of America, high adventure is an option to learn and have amazing experiences. Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico is a time tested example. Here is my production as best I could with only a GoPro in hand.
LHS Cross Country Banquet Video 2019
This was the third Cross Country banquet video I produced for my high school team. It was shown at the end of the season and featured shots from each meet and many practices/workouts and hopefully great and entertaining music. It was always enjoyable to produce, even if it took 20+ hours to go through all of the footage and edit it down to the perfect frame.
Varsity XC Workout Wednesday
This 1 day filming, shorter production, of my high school cross country teams workout approaching our regional meet. This as a fun project and was a nice "gift" to the senior athletes who were approaching their last workout. This is also one of my favorite soundtrack to date.
Overland Summers Yukon Territory Production
I was lucky enough to travel to the Yukon Territory in north western Canada with a hiking and backpacking outfitter, Overland Summers. We explored the region, hiking, camping and canoeing. This was an amazing experience and the multitude of shots that I got on this trip made it possible for me apply the techniques I had recently learned, and made the first production I was really proud of.
HYG Kentucky Mission Trip
I joined this group as a member, found it to be a family like environment, became a leader as a Officer, then was elected President as a senior. Our annual mission trip to rural, impoverished Kentucky, was a staple and I tried to capture the fun, hard work and general atmosphere of the group in this video.
